Band News!

“Tricia” -  Lead Vocals
Spinning sounds into songs before she knew words, Tricia has always had music playing in her head and she simply can’t help but to let the "Led" out. Luckily for her, she was caught singing along with the soundtrack at work and offered the amazing opportunity to sing with a band! Open to all musical styles, she has a soft spot for classic rock and could not be more thrilled to jam with these local legends. While joining the Shakedown crew will be her band debut, Tricia has had years experience “entertaining” unsuspecting strangers everywhere when singing randomly in public.

“Ozzy The Iraqi” - Lead Guitar and Vocals
Yes ladies and gentlemen, on Lead Guitar and Vocals, Shakedown features that funny man from the sands of Baghdad, the Emir of Electrics, the Sultan of Strats, the Imam of the Ibanez, that Phoenician Fenderman himself, “Ozzy The Iraqi.” You’ve no doubt heard Ozzy on WKLH’s Dave and Carole Show, cracking up the hosts with his wry commentaries on life in America as an Iraqi. Yet, you may not have known that Ozzy is one of the best Lead Guitar players around and simply loves playing good old American Rock & Roll. His resume includes the bands Pull Toy, Rock Bottom and Cross Eyed Kitty to name a few. Now living in America’s heartland (Palmyra, WI) Ozzy simply wants to bring a smile to your face while rocking the night away with his Shakedown friends.

"Paul" - Lead Guitar and Vocals
Paul has been playing guitar for a number of years in several different projects. A founding member of Rip Snortin’ and The Prime Cuts, Paul also branched out in a solo release, “So Good” with The Paul Curtis Band. That recording featured an instrumental Blues trio fused with Jazz, Rock, and Funk and really captured Paul’s sharp edged original sound. He’s a left-handed self-taught player and has shared the stage with such greats as Pee Wee Hayes, Cadillac Pete & The Heat and countless others. A crowd pleaser, Paul draws in the audience with his screaming licks and passionate solos. When asked about joining up with Shakedown Paul replied, “I'm excited to be a part of this Shakedown train”!

"Fred" - Bass Guitar and Vocals
Fred started playing Bass Guitar rather late in life. At least, when compared to other Bass players. The fact is he didn't touch a Bass Guitar until he was more than 22 years old. However, once he picked up his original 1963 Fender Precision Bass, there was no going back. He’s played in such bands as The Spring City Rockers, The Schneebs, Mostly Water, Gimmick, The Willies, The Mad Cows and was a founding member of Waukesha Wisconsin's Four30Nine. He’s also the current Bass Player for Rip Snortin’ and The Prime Cuts. Fred’s favorite quote, "Without music, life would be a mistake" – Neitszche

"Nate" - Drums and Vocals
One of the newest members of Shakedown is drummer Nate. Hailing from scenic, Waukesha, WI, Nate has been the keeper of the beat for local teen phenom sensations "KNG" as well as Milwaukee's ground breaking alternative favorite "Murdock". With a cutting edge style all his own, Nate hammers on the skins like he's beating a government mule. (Note - No government mules were harmed in the writing of this biography). Next time you're checking out a Shakedown show, remember that you're dancing to the beats of one of Wisconsin's finest, nicest and only slightly sarcastic percussionists, Nate C. "Wocka, Wocka, Wocka"!

Welcome Tricia:

The band wishes to warmly welcome new vocalist Tricia Boyd into the Shakedown family and we encourage everyone to head on out to the next Shakedown show to hear southeastern Wisconsin's greatest new female voice in action. While this is her first time around with a live band, Tricia has been knocking them dead at various karaoke nights around the area for quite a while and is really looking forward to making music with the boys.

We'd also like to give a shout out to Rhonda Begos-Zolecki for pointing us in Tricia's direction. Rumor has it that Rhonda was walking through a store in Southridge one evening and while there, heard the voice of someone who really needed to be singing in a band. Rhonda approached the subject and got her contact info. Thankfully, one of us was paying attention to Facebook when Rhonda posted that any band looking for a female vocalist needed to hear this woman. The rest, as they say, is history. Welcome Tricia! We all look forward to hearing you live on stage!

Farewell Liz:

As you may have gathered, bringing Tricia on board means that our own Liz Singer will be hanging it up on the Shakedown side of life. Liz has decided to tour the world over the next several months and the band wants to be sure that we let her know how much she's meant to us over the past few years. Liz is one of the most down to earth people on the planet and has always given 100 percent to the Shakedown cause. We wish you nothing but success and all the best Liz! Don't be a stranger and do record that solo work as soon as possible. Thanks for all of the laughs and late nights. You're the best! Adios.

The New Website Story: Well, sometimes fate has a way of pushing you forward. For some reason beyond our control, our website hosting provider of over a decade simply pulled the plug on our old website. Turns out that they claim to have changed their billing policy, whereby, they would no longer process any credit card payments directly, but now require all of their customers to switch to PayPal. That would have been fine had they actually sent me, the admin of record, the supposed email explaining this change. So since they hadn't heard from me, they simply blew away or website and, more importantly, all of its content.  I cannot tell you how frustrating it was to receive a note from a fellow musician telling me that our website had simply vanished. Nevertheless, the good folks at GoDaddy helped get us back up and running on a new host and we'll be adding content as we go along. Still, what a pain! Stay tuned.
